Getting Ready for Rock The Bells

Tomorrow we’re going to be sweating our butts off in San Bernardino. We’re going to the worst venue in the history of mankind – the San Manuel Ampitheater formerly known as the Hyundai Pavilion. We swore we’d never go back, but we’re going back.

This is just a partial line-up for RTB ’08: A Tribe Called Quest, The Pharcyde, Nas, Mos Def. That is just a partial line-up. You can see the set times here and here. I’ve seen Q-tip live, but I’ve never seen Tribe together. Words can’t describe how excited I am.

Here’s my favorite Tribe song. What’s yours?

    oohhh… yes.
I was at the Tribe reunion yearssss ago when they had it in anaheim for the first time. That time was marred with problems so their performance wasn’t epic, BUT I hear they are going to ROCK THE MIC at RTB. I’m excited for you and R!!

my fave? my first love is Scenario.

  2. hana says:

Scenario is a great pick. i always go crazy over Busta Rhyme’s part.

i don’t want to raise my expectations too much but i’m looking forward to it.

  3. grrrace says:

i do love this song… and scenario, too.

i will always have a special place in my heart for electric relaxation, though.

(and maybe bonita applebaum, too. hehe.)

Bonita Applebum always makes me want to dance. those are good picks.

you can’t go wrong w/ old school Tribe.

I don’t know if it’s my favorite, but I Left My Wallet in El Segundo got me into Tribe.

Q Tip is a fucking genius.

“Scenario Remix” with Kid Hood will always make me nod my head like a retarded b-boy.

Q-Tip’s verse on “Buddy” put them on my radar. Then “Can I Kick It?” foreshadowed just how dope Phife would be on the next two albums.

I guess I know what I’m bumping en route to Devora. You on point, Hana?

    R.I.P. Kid Hood.

  7. hana says:

    All the time, Tardis. ;)

Can I Kick It? has that classic hook. Oh man, it’s going to be an awesome show. Also, Tribe is always great for a road trip.

Tell me how you really feel!
