If you love Planet Tokki, it’s time to start stocking up on her cute plushies. I saw her on the Felt Club list, but I noticed that her website wasn’t working. I just read this announcement on her Myspace blog:
As of January 2009, I will be on hiatus indefinitely.
This is by no means a goodbye, but I’m placing everything on hold pending major structural changes in the company and a large move somewhere secret and far. That means, no more fairs, no more sewing until most likely 2010. My last fair will probably be Maker Faire 2009, assuming I am approved as a vendor!
BUT this means that the next time I return, everything will be different. More Professional, glossier, new-fangled, updated.
I’m sad that she’ll be on hiatus, but it sounds like she’s making the right career move. I wish her the best and I look forward to seeing Planet Tokki at Felt Club. For more details (including her crafts fair schedule), visit her myspace page.

I’ll assume she’ll be “sharpening the saw” and Planet Tokki will be coming back more powerful than ever like Obi Wan.
lisa: i agree that a hiatus can be a good thing. sometimes you need time to recharge your batteries and start with a new perspective.
