A while back I posted about Chaff n Skaffs: Mai and the Lost Moskivvy by Luke Feldman and Amanda Chin. The book is due in May ’09, and the kind folks at Immedium Press sent me a preview copy.
I present you three book reviews in one post.
From me: The artwork is pretty much what I expected from SKAFFS. I love the characters and the colorful surroundings. The story is cute as well.
From my friend Grace: I love the artwork! It’s really cute.
From her (almost) three year old daughter Mia (as told to Grace): Mia says that she enjoyed it. and that it was interesting. and that she really liked ‘moskitty.’
I think Mia’s opinion trumps us all. :)
she wants me to read it to her again. *grunt*
there’s one more thing about the book… the only problem i have is… how am i supposed to pronounce “mai?” is it “may?” or “my?” and is “gembrook” with a hard or soft G? hehe.
Thanks for the review guys! Mai is pronounced May and Gembrook is pronouned “gem-brook”.
Tell Mia that Moskivvy was glad to hear that she liked him and says “hello”!
awesome! i kept switching between “may” and “my” when i was reading it to her. hehe.
skaffs: best of luck with the book release!
grrrace: “my” would be the asian pronunciation. :)
