This might be the coolest coloring book ever! Color Ink Book creates DIY art periodicals, and they will release Volume 4 at Comic Con with 5 exclusive covers. My favorite is the TADO cover above.
The release of Volume Four (three weeks before its street date) will boast five SDCC 09 exclusive covers in addition to the Joe Ledbetter (street cover) the following artists created covers for Volume Four: JFish, Jermaine Rogers, Jim Mahfood (AKA Food One), Nathan Fox and Tado.
Starting Wednesday night one cover will be available for sale each day. The covers are limited to 30 copies and are first come first serve. Volume Four features works from Joe Ledbetter, Brian Ewing, Nathan Fox, Aya Kakeda, Jim Mahfood (AKA Food One), Tado, KozynDan, Jermaine Rogers, Boo Cook and many more.
In addition to the variant covers, Color Ink Book paired up with Steff Bomb of the I Make Monsters fame, to create 25 (10”) handcrafted plush dolls of their signature character Rayola. They have also teamed-up with JFish of Studio JFish to create a GID zipper pull featuring his Skeleton Rayola the piece was sculpted by David Arshawsky (sculptor of many of the TMNT figures) and is limited to fifty. If that wasn’t enough there will be three new tee shirts designed by Big Money Rodan, JFish and Jim Mahfood (AKA Food One) as well as a few exclusive prints by Matt Datchuk and Nathan Fox. There will be a gaggle surprises as well!

Wha? Just 30 per day? The chances of getting one are slim. Grrr.
30?! that’s nuts.
Whoa!!!!
I hope the violence is kept to a minimum.
Guess M11 is my first stop every day.
Has anybody heard of Color Ink Book before?
Their website looks rad, but why haven’t I heard of them?
Am I just lame or what?
I think they have only been around for like year or less. I picked up a copy @ WonderCon and loved it. If the con issue impresses I’ll subscribe.
Keeping my fingers crossed.
thanks for the info, loveshappiness.
ok, i’ll be trying to get my hands on one of these.
Yeah… They are new. They were at the con last year. You might still be able to get ahold of some of the original books. The art is amazing, add that to the fact you get to be part if it. Nothing else like it.
