DesignerCon has grown up since it was Vinyl Toy Network. If you didn’t brave the rain to make it to the event, here is a small sample of what you missed:

Three words: Beastlies snow globes!! I’ve been a fan of Beastlies for a while, and I was amazed at these snow globes. From what creator Leslie Levings describes, each snow globe involves a painstaking process. The end result is simply amazing.

Sawdust Bear Makes Things… I was drawn in by the name of the booth. After the first walk-through, we had to return to this booth to see these odd-but-cute creatures again. Artist Shing Khor sculpts and paints each unique “specimen.” Read her webcomic about Marlowe the monster (one of her creations), and shop for other specimens here.

While handmade robots aren’t completely new, I like the different variations of Sleepy Robot 13‘s polymer pieces. Anyone who makes ramen-eating robots is aces in my book.

Artist Mekanikku’s handmade plush dolls are so lovely. Leanna Lin’s Wonderland will be hosting her solo show in the upcoming future; details to come.

LEGO art combined with Pac-Man makes me very happy.

This custom DJ Lancy Mega Munny by artist Malo was one of the best things I saw all day.
