Photos from “Undercurrents” at GR2

At the opening reception of “Undercurrents,” Martin Hsu asked me which ones were my favorite pieces. Even though it was tough to choose, I picked these two as my favorites. Sea anemones are awesome.

I was really impressed with all of the details in Lawrence Yang‘s paintings. I want to live in these worlds he created.

Here we are with Martin, and of course I’m representing the Puffer Puss Posse. The opening reception on Saturday was so much fun with both artists coming down from San Francisco. Martin bought Japanese snacks for everyone, and Lawrence had free buttons to give away.

I briefly chatted with Martin about his upcoming projects.  The Puffer Puss plush is nearing completion, and you can expect to see it in the near future. He is also creating a vinyl toy version of his Dragon Boy character. If you’re going to DesignerCon on November 5, look for Martin’s table! He is truly one of the nicest people you’ll ever meet.
