Along with her collaboration with Fat Rabbit Farm, Genevieve Santos completed two solo pieces for Supah Mashup Art Party. Here’s a sneak preview of one of them. She actually finished all of her pieces before embarking on a trip around the world. (Follow her blog to see her latest adventure.)

I’m happy to note that she will be back in time to attend the Supah Mashup opening reception. During the day, you’ll find her at Unique LA, too!

Supah Mashup Art Party opens at Leanna Lin’s Wonderland on Saturday, May 11 with an opening reception from 6-10 pm.

Fans of this blog will already recognize the double dose of cuteness in these preview images. I’m honored to have Genevieve Santos and Fat Rabbit Farm combining their adorable art styles for Supah Mashup Art Party!

Their joint pieces feature a fun mix of digital illustration and watercolor. Patty Variboa of Fat Rabbit Farm says: When we first started brainstorming the pieces we instantly knew we wanted to have both of our elephants characters involved. We focused on Peanut, our little trickster elephant, and Genevieve used her style of cute elephant and added in a summer’s staple – ice cream! We really wanted the pieces to be playful, colorful and with a cute twist of tricksy-ness. And I think we did just that!

Here is a sneak preview of one of Genevieve’s solo pieces. Now I’m craving ice cream! In addition to collaborative artwork, Supah Mashup Art Party will also feature individual art by some of the artists.

Cute Christmas Ornaments

If your Christmas tree needs a serious dose of cute, check out this Special Delivery Christmas Tree Ornament by Genevieve Santos. I saw a few of these at Leanna Lin’s Wonderland yesterday, and they are adorable! Each ornament is made of laser-cut wood and is hand-painted by the artist.

Feltmates has added several holiday items to her Etsy shop, including this Santa Claus Ornament. Each ornament is hand-stitched.

The WonderGround Gallery in Downtown Disney now carries these framed ornaments featuring work by Jerrod Maruyama. (I don’t think these are available online.)

Yummy Pancake has an awesome selection of amigurumi ornaments including this Rainbows and Unicorn ornament. If you’re not into unicorns, this Christmas taco ornament is perfect for any tree.

Genevieve Santos “Growing Up Geek” at Sweet Breams

On October 20, geek out with Genevieve Santos at her first official solo show. Held at Sweet Breams, “Growing Up Geek” is her homage to a geeky childhood: Inspired by true events–like being a Trekkie for Halloween in the 4th grade, my wildly unhealthy obsession with Dr. Mario, and actually owning the “I Want To Believe” poster from The X-Files–the pieces are a peek into my childhood of video games, comics, and sci-fi.

“Growing Up Geek” opens with a reception on October 20 from 6-9pm. In addition to original works and new prints, Genevieve will have a limited edition Doctor Who-inspired line of cards and prints and free laser cut charms for attendees. The show will run through December 16.
