Mari Inukai & Friends Present ’20 Pieces of Dreams’

In Japan, a 20th Birthday is a “Coming of Age” birthday. It includes ceremonies and parties, and it’s akin to becoming 21 in the US. On October 27, Giant Robot 2 will be celebrating the birthday of Sena, Mari Inukai’s daughter with a group exhibition ‘20 Pieces of Dreams.’

The exhibition will feature Mari Inukai, Sena Inukai, Amy Sol, Audrey Kawasaki, Edwin Ushiro, Elizabeth Ito, Fumi Omori, Katsuya Terada, Kent Williams, Sean Chao, Stella Im Hultberg, Tessar Lo, and Yoskay Yamamoto. An opening reception will take place from 6:30-10:00pm on Saturday, October 27.

Photos from “In the Wake of Dreams” at Thinkspace Gallery

This Saturday I was finally able to check out “In the Wake of Dreams” at Thinkspace Gallery. I was not surprised to see little red dots all over the gallery. Of course this painting by Mari Inukai had one. It’s completely adorable.

Stella Im Hultberg had several dreamy paintings (pun intended).

This was my favorite of Audrey Kawasaki‘s pieces.

While I enjoyed all of the artists’ works, I especially loved the pieces by Amy Sol. For me, she was the highlight of the show.

“In the Wake of Dreams” runs through October 29, so see it if you can. More photos are on my Flickr set.
