“Metallic Machinations” at Toy Art Gallery

On December 11, Toy Art Gallery presents “Metallic Machinations,” a group show featuring DrilOne, Cris Rose, Phu, Jester, and Rohby. The show will feature customs and originals that are gritty, rusty, and most importantly, mechanical.

I love this Buff Monster custom by Cris Rose.

Dril One‘s AT-AT is pretty amazing.

The opening reception of “Mechanical Machinations” takes place on December 11 from 7-11 pm. Check out  more preview pics on TAG’s blog.

Phu! Rebel Pilots

Phu! is a master at customizing vinyl, and now he is releasing his own vinyl toy. Phu!’s Rebel Pilots are handmade, hand-painted, and individually numbered. They’re blind boxed and available in four colors.

They were snapped up during pre-order, and they’re ready for shipment. It’s hard to pick a favorite, but I really dig the maroon one. For more pictures, visit his blog. To see his customizing skills, check out this previous post.

Phu! Rogue Trooper

Phu! x MadL = Rogue Trooper – for the upcoming exhibition Lift

If you’re into custom vinyl, you know Phuek! or Phu! for short. I love his artwork because he combines a futuristic look with the element of recycling. All of his custom toys use some kind of found object. The Rogue Trooper is made with objects like disposable plastic spoons and broken toy parts. He knows how to create art out of something people would normally throw away.
