With Supah Mashup Art Party closing in less than two weeks, I just wanted to highlight some of the curious creatures who still need good homes. This Antlered Forest Beast and Fattybug by Leslie Levings and Shing Yin Khor is looking for the perfect abode.
Herbert and Harold the LA River Monster by Vanessa Ramirez and Shing Yin Khor promise to protect your home, especially your art collection. They may steal your potato chips but that’s a small price to pay.
The Corner Museum of Dubious Beasts featuring works by Leslie Levings and Shing Yin Khor also closes on July 14. While most of the show has sold, a few pieces remain, like this Giant bat-eared fillimander (Andrias megalotis).
This Abnormally Large Fiji Mermaid is also looking for its forever home. To inquire about any of these pieces, please email hello@LeannaLinsWonderland.com.
I had the chance to preview all of the Supah Mashup pieces today at Leanna Lin’s Wonderland, and I can’t even begin to describe how happy I am. I really think you will love this exhibition as much as I do. If you haven’t signed up for the preview list yet, sign up today!
While I was there, I was able to preview The Corner Museum of Dubious Beasts featuring Leslie Levings and Shing Yin Khor. The level of talent in that art corner seriously blew my mind!! I guarantee your jaw will drop when you see all of their curious critters.
We’ve got a lot of fun things planned for this Saturday’s opening reception. Music by DJ Laminlove, cupcakes by Miss Priss Cupcakes & Such, small bites provided by Masacasa, and fruit flavored soft drinks from Jarritos. Free goodie bags to the first 10 people to spend $50 or more.
Many of the participating artists will in attendance, and I’ll be giving away free Supahcute buttons and stickers. Plus Susie Ghahremani will be signing and doodling copies of her picture book ‘What Will Hatch?’ Come out for cute art, yummy snacks, and good vibes!
Opening on the same night as Supah Mashup Art Party will be The Corner Museum of Dubious Beasts – a two-person show featuring critter curators and sculptors Leslie Levings and Shing Yin Khor. Here are some ‘eagle rock larms’ who will be appearing at Leanna Lin’s Wonderland on May 11. Shing explains, “Eagle Rock is not known for its rocks. it’s just where Leanna Lin’s Wonderland is located….which is where these guys are going.” Get it? Good.
This is just one of the fattybugs who would love to be acquainted with you.
Leslie has been working on this painting for Dubious Beasts. Follow her progress on her Tumblr.
Both Leslie and Shing will be at the opening reception, so we hope you can join us! Sign up for the Art Gallery Preview List here, and be sure to check the “special sneak peek” box before subscribing.
Leslie Levings and Shing Yin Khor are busy creating monsters for The Corner Museum of Dubious Beasts. The show opens at Leanna Lin’s Wonderland on May 11, and it’s going to be epic!
The Corner Museum of Dubious Beasts opens the same evening as Supah Mashup Art Party, and Leslie and Shing will have a collaborative piece for Supah Mashup. It’s not too early to rsvp on Facebook!
The upcoming art corner at Leanna Lin’s Wonderland features two of my favorite artists in the whole world. Inspired by early cabinets of curiosities and the mustiest corners of old museums, critter curators and sculptors Leslie Levings and Shing Yin Khor unveil a collection of strange and wonderful beady eyed things in The Corner Museum of Dubious Beasts.
These are just a few of the critters that will be in their two-person show. I’m also excited that Leslie and Shing will have a collaborative piece in the Supah Mashup Art Party! Both shows open on Saturday, May 11 with a reception from 6-10pm. Hope to see you there!
