“Red Carpet Kaiju” at Toy Art Gallery

I don’t know anything about kaiju. When I see the term “kaiju,” I just think “inspired by Japanese monsters.” And I don’t even know if that’s the correct definition. I do know that most kaiju are not cute, which might be another reason why I don’t follow the scene.

Except for these…I think these Uamou kaiju are pretty cute. Maybe kaiju has cute potential.

If you’re a kaiju fan or are kaiju curious, head over to Toy Art Gallery this weekend. Red Carpet Kaiju is a group show with an international roster of kaiju artists, and the opening reception takes place on September 4 from 7 – 11 pm. See more information about the show here.

Rotobox Ganmetall Celcius Custom Show

If you are a custom vinyl artist or you’re interested in it, find the time to visit Toy Art Gallery for the Rotobox Ganmetall Celcius Custom Show. Curated by John Stokes, the group show opened on Saturday and the talent level here is simply ridiculous.

It’s really hard to pick out favorites from the show because everyone’s piece was so strong. You can check out the official preview here. Better yet, see it in person; the show runs until August 27.
