Here is the schedule for UglyCon 2013 that takes place Saturday, June 15 (2-9pm) at Giant Robot 2!
Participate in the UglyCon Button Hunt! Patronize Giant Robot’s friends on Saturday (2-9pm) and mention UGLYCON to receive a free button. While supplies last of course.
And there will be UglyCon art! These are just a few of the pieces that you’ll see at GR2! The art exhibition will run through June 26, 2013.
Giant Robot and Uglydoll are proud to present UglyCon, an exhibition of art, plush, comics and more by Uglydoll, Friends and Fans! UglyCon 2013 takes place on Saturday, June 15 (2-9pm) at GR2. The event includes a plush exhibition featuring art by guests and the creators of Uglydoll, a costume parade, new Uglydoll caps and beanies, bingo, and more. Full event schedule will be posted on Giant Robot’s website soon.
From perusing the Uglydoll Facebook page and Twitter stream, I think 2012 is going to be the Year of the Uglydoll! I really need these Uglybuddies which are scheduled for release this Spring.
The 10th Anniversary Wage is a reproduction of the very first Wage Sun-Min sewed for David. This one will ship in the 2nd quarter of the year.
I don’t know when this picture frame will be available, but I need one.
This is also on my Ugly wishlist and is currently available for preorder. Stay up-to-date on upcoming Uglydoll goodies by liking their Facebook page.
Every year I visit the Uglydoll booth (#3344). It’s one of my favorite booths, and I always walk away with an armful of Ugly-goodness. This time around, David Horvath and Sun-Min Kim will be available for signings at their booth every day from 2 – 4pm. I don’t think I’ve ever seen Sun-Min at a Comic Con signing so this will be a rare opportunity to meet them both.
This year’s Comic Con exclusive is Uglycorn, a Toy Tokyo + Uglydoll exclusive. Uglycorn will be released into the wild on Thursday at 10 am – Toy Tokyo booth #5437. David will be available for signing.
On Saturday 11 am – 12 pm, David will be at Giant Robot booth # 1729 for a special signing: …will customize blank Ugly Kaiju to your liking as you request ( no bad words on there though ok ) we have less than 10 so please stop by at the start time!
Whew, that’s a lot of Ugly to go around. Keep track of Uglydoll on their Facebook and Twitter.
Uglycon NYC took place on Saturday, and here are some pics of the event. They introduced two new Uglydolls, and this is one of them. According to a blog comment, its name is Uppy. I just love the antlers and stubby little feet. For more pictures, visit David Horvath’s Flickr page.
Sakiwaki of I Heart Cool Stuff is having an awesome giveaway: one lucky person will win this Ice Lodge Chuckanuka. Everyone loves an Uglydoll! Leave a comment on this blog post, and she’ll pick a random winner on December 7th.
I really want those plaid Uglydolls!! Unfortunately, they were only available at Uglycon Tokyo. Blurgh! Vinyl Pulse posted some pictures of the event, and David Horvath has more links on his blog.
The event took place at Stitch, and they are accepting international orders on these limited edition Uglydolls. All of the original plush and artwork are sold out. To place an order, follow these instructions. The limited edition Uglys are cool, but those plaid dolls rock my world.
