and they were frightened and called him the most wild thing of all.” – Sarah Caterisano

This is my favorite piece from Terrible Yellow Eyes at Gallery Nucleus. We saw lots of great works there. Maurice Sendak is the man. He created characters that are timeless; almost any interpretation will put a smile on your face.

The show runs until October 6. If you have kids, they’ll love it, too.

I just saw the postcard for this art show, and I’m already excited about it! It opens on September 19 with a reception from 7 – 11 pm.

Gallery Nucleus proudly presents Terrible Yellow Eyes, an exhibition by guest curator Cory Godbey, creator of www.terribleyelloweyes.com

This exhibit is the selected physical gallery show of the online collection of artwork inspired by the beloved classic “Where the Wild Things Are” by Maurice Sendak.

The latest Entertainment Weekly gives a sneak preview of the 12 biggest movies coming out in 2009. One of them is Where the Wild Things Are which is directed by Spike Jonze. The movie has been in production since 2006 and it will be released on October 16th.

Here is a first look at nine-year-old Max Records. The actual EW magazine has a bigger version of the top picture. I think it looks great, and I’m already excited about this movie.

Where the Wild Art Is opens tonight at the Wonderful World Art Gallery. If Culver City is too far away, you can view all of the artwork online.

Where the Wild Things Are Goodies

When did Where the Wild Things Are become so hip? I stopped by Urban Outfitters last night, and I saw these awesome WTWTA ornaments. They have three figures: Max, Bernard, and Moishe. The three characters are also available as plush dolls.

The links say that the ornaments are exclusive to UO. I really hope these are officially licensed products.
