This is my favorite picture from the opening reception. My friend is a fellow collector of cute, and she bought three pieces from the show (2 Beastlies sculptures + a Susie Ghahremani painting). Her daughter is now the proud owner of a Beastlies sculpture that had miniature snails adorning the glass case. I think she’s saying “Snaaaaaailllsss” in this picture.
Everyone loved the cute snack table styled by Lovely Jubilee, and Jenn of justJENN Designs surprised me with these awesome cupcakes. I was only able to taste a chocolate cupcake, but my friends said that the blood orange cupcakes were crazy delicious!
Omg, look at these hipsters! Just kidding… actually Erin and Tricia are friends of my boyfriend, and they stopped by to show their support even though they had other plans that evening. It was nice to hang out with them, and Erin bought an original piece from the Genevieve Santos art corner.
That’s me with my boyfriend, Susie Ghahremani, Leanna Lin, and Melissa Contreras. This was taken at the end of the evening, and I really regret not taking more photos of the artists in attendance. CURATOR FAIL. Before the opening began, I had lofty goals of taking photos of all of the attending artists with their pieces. Then, people started coming in, and it was all a blur after that point.
I want to thank all of the artists who took the time to attend the opening: Jason Ponggasam and Patty Variboa of Fat Rabbit Farm, Melissa Hsu (Susuten), Liz Adams, Leslie Levings (Beastlies), Jenn of justJENN Designs, Liane Shih (Mekanikku).
I’m so grateful to Leanna of Leanna Lin’s Wonderland for the opportunity to make one of my dreams come true. To have my blog associated with this amazing group of artists has truly been a privilege.
Thanks to all of the artists who were part of my dream art show: Beastlies, Bubi Au Yeung, Crowded Teeth, Doubleparlour, Fat Rabbit Farm, Gary Ham, Genevieve Santos, Hiné Mizushima, Jerrod Maruyama, Katie Cook, Liz Adams, Martin Hsu, Mekanikku, Melissa Contreras, Melissa Hsu (Susuten), PodgyPanda, Sawdust Bear, 64 Colors, Susie Ghahremani, Yoko Nomura.
