First, I want to thank Leanna Lin Fong for giving me the opportunity to curate another show at Wonderland! And I want to thank all of the artists who participated in the show. All of your collaborations look fantastic! Special thanks to the artists who came out for the evening. This group photo was taken towards the end of the evening, so we missed Irene Stone.
Thanks to my friend Grace and her family for always being so supportive. As you can see, they’re all sporting their Supahcute buttons proudly. Leslie, your Short-Footed False Wallabin from The Corner Museum of Dubious Beasts will be heading to its new loving home after the exhibition closes.
Grace’s daughter Mia loved the Dubious Beasts show so much that she sent me a thank you card with this drawing. Isn’t it the best thing ever?!
Thanks to Rodger for taking photos throughout the evening and for being so supportive, in general. I don’t know why but I was super nervous right before the opening. Fortunately, Rodger was there to keep me calm and to remind me to just have a good time.
Rodger’s family happened to be in town for Mother’s Day weekend, and we were so happy that they could join us for opening night. His mom and oldest sister were visiting from Sacramento, and one of his sisters flew in from Colorado. Also represented in this shot are Chino Hills and Burbank! One of Susie and Irene’s tiny bog turtles will be flying to Sacramento to be with its new owner.
Last but definitely not least, I want to thank everyone who came out for the opening reception of Supah Mashup Art Party! I hope you had as much fun as we all did. If you took pictures of the show, please tag me on Twitter or Instagram. Or you can post them to my Facebook page.
