Preview: Shing Yin Khor “A Nervous Harbour” at Stranger Factory

It’s a kelpy fattybug parade!! Here’s another sneak preview of Shing Yin Khor‘s upcoming solo show “A Nervous Harbour” at Stranger Factory.

I’m in love with the baby fattybugs! If you’re too far away from New Mexico, sign up for Stranger Factory’s mailing list for the opportunity to purchase pieces online.

Shing will also be bringing a few Clown Jellies with her. More about this curious critter: “Clown Jellies are invertebrates that are only visible in the water that is between 24 to 25 meters deep, no more, no less. If seen, Clown Jellies are easily distinguished by their vibrant colour. While colour wavelengths are absorbed by water, leaving much of the ocean a dullish blue tint to the human eye, Clown Jellies will always appear brightly coloured to divers, even if that is theoretically a scientific impossibility.”

“A Nervous Harbour” opens at Stranger Factory on September 6, with a reception from 6-9pm. Shing will be in attendance, so give her a hug from me!
