Good hip hop never dies. I grew up with hip hop during the prime years, and Rock The Bells re-affirmed my love for hip hop. Yesterday I fulfilled several life-long dreams.
I met all of the members of A Tribe Called Quest. I had my picture taken with Phife. It was the first time I ever saw the live performances by De La Soul, The Pharcyde, and A Tribe Called Quest.
There were a few new names, but yesterday was mostly about old school hip hop. Or as De La Soul calls them – the “super MCs.” Not everyone can be an MC, and not many can be a Super MC. Yesterday’s roster was complete with Super MCs.

I adore Luke Chueh’s artwork [see banner – I own the mini-print set], and I love anything that is GID. His Mecha Sad Bear is a bear meets robot. The clear edition is my favorite, but the GID version is pretty damn cool.
They’re not cheap, but collector’s items never are. The GID Mecha was a Taipei Toy Festival exclusive and you can get it here.
